The Peregrine that flew over the garden and onto the garden list was the 81st species to do so. Not bad for a modest suburban patch of land far from the coast and water. Most of those species recorded have been seen
from the garden rather than
in it. But, with a bit of time (I have lived here since 1987), and luck, an unusual bird can grace me with its appearance. Mute Swan, Wigeon, Honey Buzzard (twice), Ringed Plover, Whimbrel, Curlew, Common Sandpiper, Cuckoo, Short-eared Owl, Tree Pipit, Firecrest, Crossbill (several) and Yellowhammer are all on the list. I'm awaiting a Red Kite with more expectation than hope. I still scan the gulls for a Med. It's the one patch were nobody else can grip me off.

Don't be so sure. My wife has had Cuckoo from our house; I haven't!
A bit like Mothing...
