Better images in Blogger!

Two identical images of a Corn Bunting appear below. Both have been loaded onto this post, with Blogger's automatic default settings imposed. The bottom picture has gone through a simple manual tweak which I hope you can see has improved the image greatly. This is how you can improve the quality of your images on Blogger. As you are composing your post, and have uploaded your image(s), click on the HTML tab (arrowed below). Now you will see the underlying HTML code (below). All of your written words still appear as you have typed them, but the pictures that you have uploaded appear as code. The code contains numbers that are instructions as to how large, and at what resolution, the picture will appear and where it sits on the page. I have highlighted each of the Corn Bunting pictures with a red box. Everything is identical bar one thing - which I have circled in purple - the 's' figure. Blogger will set this at a bog standard 640 or 400. All you need do is al...

Help needed

I’m hoping someone out there might have the answer to my little problem - I currently cannot reply to any comments that are left on this blog. I am logged in on Blogger, this blog sees me as ‘Steve Gale’, but when I go to comment on a reply (or leave a comment on another blog) I’m identified as ‘Google account’ and whatever I try to post disappears into thin air. I’ve tried logging off and back in again, tried to find a solution on-line, but to no avail. Anybody got any bright ideas? Thanks in anticipation of an easy solution... Oh, by the way, when I look at the ‘homepage’ of this blog, above the header and to the right, it says ‘create blog’ and ‘sign in’. This would ordinarily have a suite of options that includes ‘create post’. If I click on ‘sign in’ it does just that - allows me to post, create, change layout etc but not comment. Weird.

He ought to look in the mirror himself, he's got to be at least eighty! His suggestion that we are all Mummy's-boys who don't possess social skills and hide behind our telescopes to mask this is just rubbish" KingTickerBigScope1963 "He never tells us what he sees, just slags off those that do. An imbeccile." PipitBagger ...

Blogger investigates North Downs and beyond

Image
Blogger today stepped in to close down ‘North Downs and beyond’ ahead of an investigation into claims that Steve Gale, the site’s owner, is a complete sham. For several months now, regular visitors to the blog have been noticing that there is little original content. ‘We rarely read about what he has actually seen’, claims Graham James from Merstham, ‘all we get is stream of half-baked ideas and lists that a five-year old could have put together.’  Somebody from in the north-east, but who wishes to remain anonymous, was quoted as saying that he’d ‘given up visiting the site ages ago’ and that this had freed up his time to ‘give Bunty more regular walks’. Mark Telfer,  holder of the key to the kingdom of Panlistia and patron saint to White Prominents was relieved that an investigation was under way, as he had harboured doubts as to Steve’s suitability as a pan-lister. ‘He never seems to go out, and suspiciously adds exactly the same species to his list just after a cer...
