Summer lovin'...

...happened so fast. After a few hours stomping around Epsom Downs, a male Wheatear appeared close to the grandstand, that made for a good end to the birding session. More to come in the next few days hopefully.

I had some fun trying to confirm a winter White Wagtail early last year Steve, and was pointed towards the following 'Dutch Birding' paper: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/208167913_White_Wagtail_and_Pied_Wagtail_a_new_look

They are nothing like as simple as I thought they were...

Meanwhile, nothing debatable about that stupendous Wheatear! Lovely.

Hi Gav, I’ve been persuaded about the error of my ways, and this is without doubt a Pied. Thanks for the paper reference, will give it a thorough read.
